Dispatch services for car haulers
We dispatch our own 9-car trucks every day — building loads, negotiating rates, and running the back office that keeps wheels turning. Now we do it for other carriers. If you run a 3-to-9-car rig and you'd rather drive than fight the load board, put our dispatch desk on your truck.
Why us
Dispatched by people who own trucks
Most dispatch services have never loaded a car. They post, they call, they take their cut — and they'll happily book you a load that grosses well and nets terribly, because fuel, deadhead, and hours-of-service math isn't their problem. It's ours, every day, on our own 9-car Cottrells.
That's the difference you're buying: we dispatch your truck the way we dispatch our own. Real lane-rate knowledge from actually running these corridors, load combinations built for a car hauler's deck — not a dry van's — and an eye on your net per day, not just the gross that pads a dispatcher's percentage.
What's included
Load board to invoice, handled
- Load sourcing & vetting. Central Dispatch and direct-shipper freight, screened for rate, route fit, and shipper reliability before it ever hits your phone.
- Route & load building. Multi-car combinations sequenced for legal weight, deck fit, and drop order — engineered to maximize gross per mile, not just fill positions.
- Rate negotiation. We know what lanes actually pay because we haul them. We negotiate from data, not hope.
- Paperwork & back office. Dispatch sheets, BOL flow, broker setup packets, and invoicing coordination so you're driving, not doing admin at the fuel island.
- Daily accountability. You see what we booked, at what rate, and why — no mystery loads, no padding.
Pricing
Simple percentage, aligned incentives
| Program | Fee |
|---|---|
| Dispatch under your own authority | 4% – 8% of gross |
| Run under our authority (lease-on) | 20% of gross |
Own-authority rates scale with truck count and service level — a single truck on full service prices toward the top of the range, multi-truck fleets toward the bottom. We only get paid on what your truck grosses, so our incentive is your revenue.
Who it's for
Built for the owner-operator and small fleet
Our sweet spot is the 3-to-9-car carrier — one truck to a small fleet — where the owner is often also the driver, and every hour on the load board is an hour not driving or living. If you're grossing decent revenue but the booking grind is eating you, or you're leaving money on the table because negotiating from a truck stop is a losing position, that's exactly the problem this desk solves.
Capacity is deliberately limited: a dispatcher can run a small board well or a big board badly, and we only do the first kind. When our board is full, we'll tell you and take a waitlist rather than degrade the service.
FAQ
California to Texas shipping questions
Do I have to sign a long-term contract?
No. Dispatch runs month to month — if we're not making you more than we cost, fire us. That's the deal that keeps us sharp.
Do you dispatch trucks outside your own lanes?
Our deepest rate knowledge is on the CA–AZ–NV–TX corridor and the I-40/I-20 routes east to Tennessee and Georgia, but the load-building and negotiation discipline travels. Tell us your home base and preferred lanes.
Won't you prioritize your own trucks over mine?
Fair question — and the honest answer is our fee structure solves it: we earn on your gross, so an idle client truck costs us money too. Client boards are run by dedicated dispatch staff with their own accountability, not squeezed in around our fleet.
What do I need to get started?
Your MC/DOT, insurance certificate, W-9, truck and trailer specs, and your preferred lanes and home time needs. Onboarding takes a day; your first dispatched load usually follows within the week.
