The hammer drops on Bring a Trailer, the wire clears — and now there's a car in a stranger's garage 1,200 miles away. Post-auction transport is its own little discipline: seller coordination, documentation that protects a car you've only seen in photos, and timing that respects everyone's patience.
The BaT / Cars & Bids handoff
Enthusiast auction sellers are usually great to work with — they photographed the car for a week straight, after all — but they want the car gone on a reasonable timeline, not three weeks of "the broker is still finding a truck." Because we're the carrier, we give the seller a real pickup window on first contact. Our driver walks the car with the seller at loading and photographs it on the Bill of Lading — the independent condition record that protects you, the buyer who's never seen it in person.
California is the deepest seller pool on these platforms, and our corridors run straight out of it — LA, San Diego, and the Bay's southbound leg into Arizona and Texas.
What to have ready before you book
- Seller's contact info and the car's actual location — auction listings show a city; trucks need an address and a rig-accessible spot.
- Payment settled per the platform's process. We move cars; we don't sit in escrow disputes. Sellers release when they're paid.
- Ground clearance and running status — lowered cars, race rubber, or "ran when parked" specials change loading approach. Tell us up front.
- The window you promised the seller. Most BaT sellers expect pickup within about a week of auction end; we can usually beat that on our lanes.
Open or enclosed for an auction win?
Honest answer: it depends what you bought. A $28k driver-quality 911 SC or a clean truck ships open all day — that's how it got to its last three owners. A six-figure result or fresh concours paint deserves enclosed, which is not what our 9-car open haulers do; we'll say so and point you the right direction rather than put the wrong car on the wrong truck. For everything in the broad middle, open transport with photo documentation at both ends is the value play.

How fast can you pick up after the auction ends?
On our corridors, typically within a few days to a week of booking — inside the window most BaT and Cars & Bids sellers expect. Book as soon as payment clears.
I've never seen the car in person. How am I protected?
The driver photographs the car's condition on the Bill of Lading at pickup with the seller present. You inspect against those photos at delivery, and anything that changed in transit is documented and covered by our carrier cargo insurance.
Do you ship lowered or non-running auction cars?
Yes — tell us ground clearance and running status when you book so loading angle, ramps, or winch positioning are planned in advance rather than improvised at the seller's driveway.
